Hello Everybody!
My name is Sandy, and I am super excited to share my once in a lifetime experience with you all. This January, I will be spending fifteen days traveling through Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. During this trip, we will be doing an abundance of research which will be explained in further detail later in this blog. I am excited for this trip for many reasons, but I am also extremely nervous about the experience. I have a three year old boy, who will be staying home missing his mama, and a myself, a nervous mother, who has never been away from him for more than three days. On top of this, I have never left the country... so I am definitely nervous. Despite the nervousness, I am beyond excited because, without Stockton and this trip, I do not know if I would ever come across another opportunity similar to this. I am excited, not just for the research and educational aspect of the trip, but for the cultural experience as well. I guess the best way to end this brief introduction of myself is with an imaginary toast; Here's to a safe and fun trip, new perspectives on American privilege, and my amazing little boy!
